UPDATE (6:30 a.m.)

All gas stations in Fort McKay are out of fuel, including the Industrial Park.

The RMWB is advising those who have fled north of Fort McMurray that Highway 63 southbound lanes have re-opened through town.

However with fuel supplies in Anzac and Wandering River depleted, the municipality is warning drivers to ensure they have enough gas to get to Grasslands.

Stopping isn’t allowed within city limits, as the entire Urban Service Area remains under a mandatory evacuation order.

In the evacuation process, many citizens were forced to abandon their vehicles on the side of the road as their gauges read empty, forcing them to rely on the kindness of others who took them into their vehicles.

53,000 are confirmed to have left the city during the evacuation.
