How can employers retain workers in a fluctuating economy?
That’s the main question being addressed at an economic summit tomorrow by the RMWB’s Economic Development department.
RMWB Information Officer Leanne Smith says while it may be difficult for business operators to get away for a few hours, it’s definitely worth their while to attend.
“We’ll start off with a bit of an overview of the economy right now in Alberta as well as in Canada and looking at the labour market’s as well and what’s happening with trends. We’re then going to go into, we’ve got three speakers to actually speak with everybody,” says Smith.
Smith says there are many options and resources for businesses in this economic climate.
“Job sharing is another big one that a lot of people don’t think about. There might be people in your workplace that are maybe wanting a bit more time at home or with the family or have other things to do,” says Smith.
Smith says there are a lot of resources for businesses and connecting with Economic Development is a great way to find out what they are.
