A new workshop co-sponsored by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB), Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) and the Public Art Committee (PAC) will offer a crash course in public art display.
Make It Public offers artists the opportunity to learn about the process of making submissions for public art calls.
The topics to be covered will include proposal writing, budgeting, safety permits for public art installations, and what to expect from selection panels.
Participants will be able to interact with representatives from ACWB, PAC, and the RMWB at the event and will receive some wisdom from guest artist Jeremy Tsang, whose public art piece “As We Are Here” was featured in igNIGHT.
The Mural Mentorship Project will be officially unveiled at the event, a new program that will pair a local artist with a creative mentor to create a piece of public artwork and learn about the process from start to finish.
Make It Public will be held at Shell Place on Saturday, April 16th and tickets can be purchased here.
