Extreme Shoplifting: RCMP seeking suspects in grocery store theft

Wood Buffalo RCMP are seeking several suspects after a brazen theft at the Save On Foods in Timberlea.

Police say a man entered the store at 5:55 p.m. on March 19, grabbed a shopping cart and started filling it with meats, cheeses, and frozen foods. By 5:59, the man exited the store without paying for the items and loaded them into a waiting silver Chevrolet Tahoe with the help of three others.

A concerned customer reported the suspicious activity to store management, who then reviewed video footage and contacted police.

The man is described as having thin facial hair, wearing a green short-sleeved shirt with black pants, with an access card around his neck and a tattoo on the top of his left hand (photo above).

RCMP say the man started in the meats section before grabbing full blocks of cheese, then took some packs of frozen prawns before returning to the meats section and exiting the store.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact RCMP at 780-788-4040 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
