After making 85 saves over the weekend, Keyano Huskies goaltender Jamie Tucker is being named the college’s male athlete of the week.
Tucker overcame a rough start against MacEwan on Friday, where he gave up 3 goals on 12 shots, to propel the Huskies to the provincial semi-finals.
The 2nd year goalie made 50 saves in a 5-4 double-overtime victory Saturday and added another 26 on Sunday in a 3-2 win that gave the Huskies the series win.
The women’s side was a harder choice for athlete of the week, with the decision being made to award the honour to the entire women’s futsal team, who captured silver at the provincial finals on the weekend.
Both Tucker and the futsal team will now be entered into the conversation for March’s athlete of the month.
