Quebec’s environmental regulation agency will begin hearings Monday for the Energy East pipeline project.
On Friday a Quebec court ruled against an environmental coalition to suspend the hearings.
The coalition believed TransCanada Pipelines Ltd, which is behind the project, wouldn’t have impact studies ready for the hearings.
TransCanada says it is committed to participating in the hearings and has submitted most of the necessary documentation.
The $15.7 billion project which would bring Alberta oil to the east has encountered stiff opposition in Quebec.
