A routine stop by local RCMP resulted in injuries on Thickwood Boulevard Thursday morning.

RCMP pulled over a black dodge ram headed down Thickwood Boulevard.

The driver attempted to get out of his truck, and when he did so, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Police say the man appeared to be conscious when he was taken to hospital, but there's no update on his injuries or condition at this time.

The east and westbound lanes of Thickwood Boulevard were closed down, holding traffic up for about one hour while crews worked on the scene.
