Last night saw the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 75th Annual Golden Globes Awards, and it felt different. It was different. A shift in consciousness is happening, and the signs aren’t just in Los Angeles. Seth Myers even quipped about being the first host of this year’s award’s season – likening it to being the first dog shot into orbit.
It’s new territory, and an adventure. But as with the moon landing, just because it took forever to get there, doesn’t mean we haven’t seen the goal for a long time. The speech you’re sure to hear a lot about over the next few days is from the winner of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”: Oprah Winfrey. And she could win that award again for the speech she gave alone.
And if that wasn’t enough Oprah for you, she also got another 10 minutes to talk back stage.
What was your favourite moment of the Golden Globes?
