People young and old will get to see Santa Claus make another appearance in Fort McMurray.
The Santa Claus Parade is back on Saturday featuring a number of festive vehicles including Santas Claus, the reindeer, and his sleigh.
Parade Coordinator Arndis Arnold tells Mix News anyone looking to enjoy the festivities must stay off the road.
“It is tempting to walk out and crowd the street – the further back we can stay, the safer it will be for everyone.”
She adds people should bundle up as it may be a long stay outside before seeing Jolly Ol Saint Nick.
“Approximately 45 minutes to pass one location so make sure you’re bundled up and you’re warm to make sure you’re there to see Santa pass.”
The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. ending between 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
During the day, certain roads will be closed to prepare for the event.
- Clearwater Drive (Riedel to King) – will be closed from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Riedel Street – 5:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Franklin Avenue (Riedel to Morrison) – 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
