They support veterans. and that includes those currently serving in the military and RCMP members, and their families.
Support is given whenever needed at no cost even if veterans or their family members are not members.
And it goes beyond that. Legions aross Canada help local Veterans, support seniors, provide for youth sports programs, raise funds for important causes, and members volunteer to help those in need throughout the community.
They’ve got really cool tanks and things out front.
And they remind us throughout the year never to forget the ultimate sacrifices made for our freedoms.

As for Remembrance Day Ceremonies in town, here are the details courtesy of MacDonald Island Park:
“The 2017 Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place in the Nexen Energy Field House. Doors open at 8:30am, and the ceremony will officially begin at 9:00am. After the conclusion of the initial portion of the ceremony at MacDonald Island Park, the ceremony will continue at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.165 located at 9317 Huggard Street in Waterways”
