If you have a dishwasher, you may want to check its serial number as Health Canada is recalling around 61, 000 kitchen appliances across the country.
The recall applies to dishwashers from several companies including Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Kenmore, and Jenn-Air that were sold from January 2013 to May 2015.
Health Canada says the power cord can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
While there have been no reports of property damage or injuries in Canada, five incidents of property damage have been reported in the United States.
If your dishwasher is on the recall list, Health Canada says you should immediately stop using the appliance and contact the Safety Recall Hotline at 1-888-965-5813 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a free inspection and repair.
A list of the affected products can be found on Health Canada’s website.
