People living in Anzac will start seeing smoke next week as FireSmart activities begin in the area.
Starting on Monday, crews will start to thin and prune evergreen trees while removing dead, standing trees in the forested areas.
The majority of the debris will be disposed through controlled burns which will result in smoke being visible around the area.
Crews will look to minimize the smoke but before they starting burning the debris they will put up signs to give residents a warning.
Meanwhile, resources are available for anyone who may experience an “unexpected emotional reaction” from the work with all the information being found at rwmb.ca.
All the wood not destroyed in these supervised burns will be piled up and made available for firewood.
The work will continue throughout the winter and is expected to be done by March 2018.
