People and organizations in Fort McMurray are continuing to find ways to help those affected by the B.C. wildfires.
On Tuesday, the region’s Social Recovery Task Force announced they are offering their support to the social profit organizations impacted by the fires.
Learning from the Horse River wildfire, the organization notes the struggles they’re currently facing will mostly continue long-term.
“As this situation is evolving, social profit organizations in BC are still developing an understanding of their current needs as well as future needs for support,” said Chantal Beaver, Chair of the Social Recovery Task Force, in a release. “We look forward to communicating with these organizations to provide whatever we can in terms of support and encouragement, as well as working with our community to support initiatives to meet these needs both today and in the future.”
Meanwhile, donations are still being accepted in the parking lot next to the downtown AMA.
