Small businesses are getting a new tool to help them thrive in the community.
Economic Development is releasing a written guide giving owners tips on how to maintain a business.
Communications Manager with the Recovery Task Force Jordan Redshaw tells Mix News the tool also features tips on how to start up a business in the region.
“The differences between sole proprietorship, incorporating your business, what you sort of need to know as you’re setting it up in the first place, the direction you might want to go.”
He notes owners can also learn more about community resources and applying for insurance.
“That are key things as you are going forward and starting your business making sure you’re doing it the right way to protect yourself down the road from any liabilities that you may encounter.”
Redshaw says the Government of Alberta and Global Affairs Canada are funding the project.
The guide is available throughout the community and online at choosingwoodbuffalo.ca.
