Fort McMurray Oil Barons forward Will Conley is thinking about life after the MOB.
The 19-year-old forward has committed to play for the Holy Cross Crusaders of the Atlantic Hockey Conference (NCAA Division I) – starting in the 2018-19 season.
In 116 career games over two seasons with the Barons – the Strathmore native has 41 goals and 45 assists.
That includes 8 goals and 10 points during this year’s drive to the North Final.
Conley also played a key role in turning the Barons from a 10-win team in 2016 to North Division champions.
“Will has demonstrated that he can be a dominant player in our league,” said Oil Barons Head Coach and General Manager Tom Keca. “He has tremendous speed and a very heavy shot. He’s also a fierce competitor. As an organization, we’re extremely happy for him and we know he’ll be successful at the next level with Holy Cross.”
Conley becomes the second Oil Baron this season to commit to a post-secondary institution.
In December, Fort Mac native and Captain Brandon Ralph committed to the NAIT Ooks of the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference beginning next season.
