The Back to Business Resource Centre is changing names and locations.
As of May 1st – the centre is moving from Hardin Street to a new location on the second floor of Timberlea Landing, at 309 Powder Drive.
It will also be renamed The Business Resource Centre to reflect that shift in focus.
“It’s important to recognize that this transition is happening because the businesses in our community have shown incredible resilience and determination and the majority of them are now back to business at some level,” Manager of Economic Development, Amanda Haitas said.
The new centre marks a milestone in the recovery of the business community as the centre transitions away from offering recover related programs.
Now it will focus on offering tools and resources to help those in the community who are starting and growing a business.
Haitas feels the business community is ready for the transition.
“Our business community has shown us that what they need is access to more resources to both grow and maintain the businesses they’ve worked so hard to re-open and to start new businesses to meet the changing economic needs of this region.”
The new location is in the same building as the R.M.W.B.’s Economic Development branch and the Planning and Development as well as the Engineering Departments.
The centre continues to offer programming and learning events – including one-on one Ask an Expert meetings, Business Support Network events and learning workshops.
Any growing or starting businesses can connect with other local business support organization through the Business Resource Centre.
