The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are back for game 5 of the AJHL North Division Final.
The MOB bounced back from a 7-1 loss in game 3 to crush the Whitecourt Wolverines in game 4 by a score of 5-1.
The series is tied at two games apiece with neither team seemingly able to take advantage of home ice.
Head Coach Tom Keca tells Mix News he hopes his team can change that in game 5.
“For us, it was just more important to bounce back from a very poor effort in game 3,” Keca said. “In a seven-game series, momentum is very important so we sort of stopped their momentum. Now, the onus is back on us to make sure that we can take advantage of being in the friendly confines of the Casman Center.”
The MOB has been outshot in nearly every game in the series but Head Coach Tom Keca says the shot differential isn’t his primary concern but it’s Whitecourt’s abundance of offensive talent.
“A lot of really gifted players up front – they have a really good power play,” Keca stated. “So, specialty teams will play a very important role in the next part of the series. We’ll have to show off our penalty-kill and when we got our opportunities on the power play – we’ll have to capitalize.”
They’ve also got home ice advantage for the remainder of the best of seven series.
Keca says he hopes to see a full house at the Casman Centre for Friday.
Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
