Police officers nabbed nearly 70 drivers in a targeted enforcement operation in downtown Fort McMurray.
The crackdown was conducted by members of the Wood Buffalo Integrated Traffic Unit and RCMP along Franklin Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
In a span of four hours, 30 people were ticketed for talking or texting on their phone while driving. Another 20 were nabbed for not wearing their seatbelt.
Officers also arrested a man for possession of a controlled substance, while a 24-year-old man was issued a driving suspension for being under the influence of drugs.
In total, 67 tickets were handed out.
