A 55-year-old man missing since the wildfire has been found safe.
Wood Buffalo RCMP confirm Charles Bastien evacuated the region safely and that he’s been located, but they’re aren’t saying where he was found.
The Mounties first publically reported Bastien missing last week after they were alerted by the man’s family in February that they haven’t heard from him since May.
Corporal Erika Laird told Mix News the distance between family members was the reason for the delay in reporting his disappearance.
“They live several provinces apart and in those situations, people don’t always have regular contact than people living in the same city.”
