We have a broken a 15-year-old weather record.
The previous warmest temperature on record for February 16th was 10.7 degrees set back in 2002.
As of 2:00 p.m. Thursday, it was 11.1 degrees at the Fort McMurray airport, according to Environment Canada.
That’s much warmer than the average daily high for this time of year, which is -7.1.
However, don’t expect to set any more records this week. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly on Friday and fall below the freezing mark on the weekend.
