The Municipalities Firesmart Program is active, and that means residents should avoid marked off areas around the Birch Wood Trails.
Crews are on site removing dead trees, cleaning up debris and performing selective cutting to reduce potential fuel of wildfires.
The majority of the trails are still open for you to enjoy, however, you should give crews and machinery 300 metres of distance.
The RMWB is making timber harvested from the program available to residents as firewood on a first come first serve basis.
For more information on the Firesmart program, you can head to the RMWB’s website.
