You can join Santa Claus and the Mayor outside the Jubilee Plaza, as they kick off the holiday season with the annual Lights of Christmas tonight.
The event begins at 5:30 with the lighting of Jubilee Plaza, the RMWB says this year the Lights of Christmas will be Bigger and brighter than ever.
Then at 6:30, Santa and his Sleigh will be making their way down Franklin Avenue for the Santa Claus Parade. The theme of this year’s parade is Santa’s Workshop, so expect to see lots of busy elves making the parade the best one yet!
For the safety of the volunteers and parade participants, motorists are reminded of the following road closures:
Prairie Loop Blvd (Riedel St. to King St.): 12 – 8 p.m.
Riedel St.: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Franklin Ave. (Riedel St. to Morrison St.): 6 – approx. 8 p.m.
Morrison St. (Franklin Ave. to Morimoto Dr.): 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Note: Road closure times are approximate. As the parade passes, roads will reopen. Barricades will be set up to prevent vehicles accessing the closed roads.
