The 27 Annual Festival of Trees has brought in a nice profit for the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
A total of $595,000 has been raised from their three-day festival which saw the Ladies Holiday Luncheon, Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, Christmas Family Fun with Santa, Festival Gala, Ugly Christmas, Santa’s Workshop, Gift Shops and local entertainment.
“We’re proud to share that through community support, sponsorship increased, attendance increased for all events, and 32 gorgeous trees were auctioned at the Festival of Trees Gala. Thank you to our community for their continued support.”
Over the weekend, 140 sponsors, 250 volunteers and 7,000 guest enjoyed the events with all tickets selling out, two within just five days.
“We’re thrilled at the tremendous support demonstrated towards health care in our region. It has been a difficult year for our community, and despite this, our community continues to step up with outstanding generosity,” said Melanie Antoine, Chair of the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Over the past 27 years, a total of $7 million has been raised for local health care while 30,000 volunteer hours have been invested coming from thousands of residents.
“Together, you showed your deep respect for the medical services and public health initiatives that are the backbone of our community’s health and well-being. It’s with your support that the Health Foundation continues to fund vital medical equipment, programs and services in the Wood Buffalo region,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation.
