It’s almost winter, but it’s going to feel more like spring this week.
Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 14 degrees today.
That would smash the previous record of 11.7 degrees, set back in 1955.
Environment Canada’s Senior Climatologist Dave Phillips tells Mix News we could possible break more records tomorrow and again on Friday and Saturday.
He adds what’s most impressive is we can expect these unseasonably warm temperatures to last until the middle of the month.
“It’s going on day after day, if not week after week. When we changed the calendar in November, we changed the weather.”
Even if we don’t break a record, the weather could be much worse.
The record low for this day was set in 1945. It was -27.8 C.
Phillips says the average temperature for this time of year is around -2 C.
