Smiles have gone along way in helping the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
Tim Hortons has donated over $24,000 to the foundation as part of their 2016 Smile Cookie Campaign, marking the most successful year for the campaign here in the community.
“We are glad to be able to do this every year and we are more than willing to put in the work, as all of it goes back into our
community and our hospital,” said Chris Bigelow, District Manager, Tollcorp Enterprises.
With added help from the community, local stores were able to sell over 8,000 more cookies than years past.
Each September Tim Hortons sells their cookies with 100 per cent of the proceeds going straight to local charities across Canada which includes hospitals, food banks and children’s programs.
“The Health Foundation thanks Tim Hortons’ for their continued support through the Smile Cookie Campaign,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation. “Their support of the Health Foundation’s unrestricted fund provides our organization the means to respond to Wood Buffalo’s most critical health care needs, positively impacting patients and their loved ones. We also extend our thanks to every member of the community who bought a Smile Cookie and supported Tim Hortons in this fun and unique initiative.”
The foundation and Tim Hortons have been partners since 2007, contributing over $55,500 in support of health care in Wood Buffalo.
