The Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee is going to have a busy night.
In total, the committee will be hearing seven different updates as well as presentations.
Recovery Branch lead, Erin O’Neill will be giving an update on FireSmart, with the presentation highlighting the FireSmart programs to date and how it will work with the recovery campaign plan.
They will also be hearing an update from Wood Buffalo Housing and Development on rebuilding opportunities for the uninsured and under insured.
The committee will hear from Interim Recovery Team Leader, Dana Woodworth about a 2016 Budget request.
They’re looking for more than $7 million to be allocated from the Municipal Operating Budget surplus,
to support the additional cash flow requirements related to the operations from the WBRC and the Recovery Task Force.
Other topics on the agenda include a presentation from the Canadian Red Cross and United Way on a community partnership table, a land use bylaw amendment for secondary suites, as well as reports on sub committees and the wildfire recovery team.
The committee will meet tonight at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
