The Fort McMurray Half-Marathon is fast approaching, so residents should expect to use caution and expect many delays while driving.
The following streets will see the most delays:
- Franklin Avenue
- Hardin Street
- MacDonald Drive
- Morimoto Drive
- Morrison Street
- Prairie Loop Boulevard
- Riedel Street
- Saline Creek Drive
There will be barricades set up on the intersections along the route to allow participants to pass. A route map can be found at rrcwb.ca.
Any motorists are being encouraged to plan ahead if the route crosses over their daily commute.
The marathon will take place on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Fort McMurray Half Marathon, hosted by the Regional Recreation Corporation.
