There’s good news for the Back to Business Resource Centre in Fort McMurray.
The Centre was opened just after re-entry began to aid business owners and workers through the challenges of recovery.
The province today announced funding for the Centre and business recovery expos to the tune of $750,000.
The funding is one of the government’s efforts to create jobs, attract investment, and diversify local economies as part of the Alberta Jobs Plan.
Through the new Community and Regional Economic Support program, communities in every corner of the province will have access to $30 million over two years.
The money will help pay for locally developed projects that promote long-term economic growth and diversification, particularly projects that communities and municipalities could not necessarily fund on their own.
The Business and Resource Centre acts as a one-stop shop for businesses to access government, business planning and office resources assisting with their return to operations.
