Businesses, organizations and residents are finding new ways to welcome back everyone after the evacuation.
All three A&W locations across the community are handing out free teen burgers, 1 per customer, today until 8 p.m. only.
“We we’re trying to think of a way to thank everybody and make everybody feel welcomed back in town and we thought usually giving things away for free usually makes everybody happy,” said Yuri Fulmer, Franchisee for all three locations.
Planning for the event has been going on since re-entry. They partnered up with Cargill, Canada Bread Food Service, Parmalat, Maple Leaf and Windset Farms who all donated the product for the day.
After much planning they set on the date and knew that this was the best thing to do.
“We didn’t want to do a discount, we didn’t want to ask people for anything, we just wanted to do something to come down and have something honest to goodness for free,” said Fulmer. “There is no obligations to buy anything, walk in the door and we will give you a teen burger.”
The three locations are located in Thickwood, in Peter Pond Mall and on Franklin Avenue.
“We’re in the business of selling food and making food, it’s the thing we can do, like my grandma used to do on Sunday’s, the things we can do for people.”
