A local woman will be leaving big shoes to fill when she departs the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
Executive Director Susanne Chaffey will be leaving the Foundation to take on a role with Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Alberta in Edmonton.
Chaffey says it wasn’t an easy decision but she made it for her family.
“The organization has treated me extremely well since I joined about 10 years ago, and it was really about my family. So, really, really sad to say goodbye to the organization that has been so instrumental in my personal and professional development,” says Chaffey.
Chaffey says Cindy Amerogen, who has a long history of senior leadership positions in education, fundraising, corporate investment, and community development will be taking over the position in August.
She says she has two words of advice for Amerogen.
“Be yourself. Cindy is just an amazing individual. Anyone that has had the honour of meeting or working with her in the past would know that. She comes in and is competent in who she is and her abilities, which I know she absolutely will be. She will take this organization very far,” says Chaffey.
Chaffey’s last day and Amerogen’s first with the NLHF is August 19.
