Those who don’t have a vehicle are going to have a way to get around Fort McMurray again.
The RMWB says they’ve put in effect a temporary transit schedule until further notice. Three routes will be run starting today.
Route 11 will run between downtown and the airport, while Route 101 and 102 will service the Timberlea and Thickwood neighbourhoods. The routes replace the special Wood Buffalo Route 21.
The municipality says normal transit fares will be charged, and there is no rural service at this time. The temporary schedule will run seven days a week.
The SMART program for those with mobility issues has also been re-activated, though on a “reduced basis.” The program provides curb-to-curb transportation for those who require mobility assistance in the RMWB.
