Residents may notice crews working at removing trees and brush.
The RMWB says it’s part of the post-wildfire cleanup and the FireSmart program as well as regular maintenance.
The RMWB has completed a post-fire wildfire hazard assessment in unburned areas and is working to reduce wildfire hazard to developed areas on municipally and provincially owned lands.
Current FireSmart projects are ongoing in the Birchwood Trails/Conn Creek area, Thickwood, Dickinsfield, Timberlea, and on all fireguards constructed during the Fort McMurray wildfire response.
One element of FireSmart is fuels removal and reduction, which is ongoing and will continue for several months throughout the RMWB.
Atco Electric is also conducting post-wildfire integrity management at rights-of-way in a number of areas including oilfield feeders and transmission lines.
To ensure your safety, please do not enter areas where work is ongoing or approach the equipment.
