Canada Post is delivering for Fort McMurray residents.
On their website the crown agency says there’s a short-term pickup option for the Canada Child Tax Benefit and Universal Child Care Benefit cheques in Edmonton. The cheques will be available at the Telus World of Science Edmonton today, tomorrow, and Tuesday.
For those who have not received their Red Cross financial aid, it can now be picked up at any post office across Canada.
For those residents who have received an SMS text message about Red Cross financial assistance available through Canada Post: if you have not received an Electronic Funds Transfer through e-mail from the Red Cross, you may now pick-up a MoneyGram International Inc. cheque for your emergency financial assistance at any Post Office across the country.
Canada Post suggests calling the Red Cross at 1-888-350-6070 for further instructions.
As well, Canada Post is suggesting all displaced residents to register for the free Mail Forwarding service. This can be done on a short-term basis or for longer periods, even if the address is temporary.
Canada Post says affected residents of Anzac from postal code T0P 1J0 and Fort MacKay residents with the postal code T0P 1C0 are also eligible.
