ConocoPhillips says the threat to its Surmount site form the wildfire south of Fort McMurray has decreased substantially.
Teams continue to respond to the situation from their Calgary office and to advance their plans for re-starting operations at Surmont once it is safe to do so.
The company was forced to shut down operations at the site and evacuate workers and the public May 5.
ConocoPhillips is donating $150,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help with relief efforts in Fort McMurray. They will also match the donations of our employees.
