The RMWB is set to start their spring street cleaning, and residents will want to pay attention to where and when it’s happening.
Similar to the winter maintenance zones, parking will be banned on streets where street cleaning is taking place. Vehicles parked on active streets will be ticketed and towed to the impound lot near the water treatment plant on Silin Forest Road.
The municipality will be providing temporary signage to indicate no-parking zones, and electronic signs will warn residents for seven days in advance of street cleaning.
Crews have already begun flushing medians on main roads across the city.
The cleaning will begin for primary and secondary routes on April 26 in the downtown area. Crews will work their way through neighbourhoods afterwards in the following order:
- Abasand/Grayling Terrace
- Beacon Hill
- Prairie Creek
- Wood Buffalo
The RMWB says they expect street cleaning to begin in residential neighbourhoods in June, while rural communities will be addressed in late May depending on weather conditions.
