It’s a lot warmer than it usually is for this time of year. In fact, it’s warmer than it’s ever been.
Fort McMurray is setting a new record for a daytime high today. As of 2 p.m. the temperature was sitting at 26°C, breaking a 33-year-old mark when the temperature reached 20.5°C in 1983, according to Environment Canada’s historical data.
The agency is also calling for above seasonal temperatures Tuesday, with a projected high of 19°C with sunny skies. The historical average daily high for this time of year is between 10-12°C.
Temperatures will then dip below seasonal on Wednesday, with a projected high of only 6°C.
