The Fort McMurray United Way is stretching their dollars as far as they will go this year.
The organization says it has approved funding allocations for 30 agencies, four more than were supported last year.
The increase in agencies and tough economic times have forced the United Way to give less to each agency than what was desired though, Executive Director Diane Shannon said in a statement.
The not-for-profit is also looking at ways to reduce their in-house expenditures, and find efficencies where possible.
The United Way raised 85% of their $8 million community campaign goal back in the fall.
